Gillian Kingslake

I studied Art and Design at the Froebel Institute, London, working with textile printing and mixed media. Lately I have concentrated on painting with both watercolour and oil and I have taken classes at Glasgow School of Art to extend my approach.

I paint on location whenever possible.

Nothing can replace the immediate impact of transitory sunlight, the wind on clouds and the sound of the sea. I am captivated by the light over the Highlands and by the ever-changing water – such a feature of our wonderful landscape.

I also love the shape and movement of boats, and the colours of the Fife coastal villages. It gives me great delight to share my work and I am always happy to take commissions.

Lots of my pictures are available as prints, many of which are available in our Gallery.

I have recently developed a range of painted horseshoes using genuine used horseshoes. They can be done in any colour, and designs can be customised. They make great gifts for weddings, house-warmings or to say “Good Luck!”.
